BZZZ
BZZZ, an international sound art festival held annually at Harp Art Lab since 2014, transforms Harplinge Windmill into a vibrant ”hive” of sound. Initially inspired by the global collapse of bee colonies, BZZZ continues to collaborate with international sound artists, exploring sound through installations, performances, workshops and improvisation. The 12th edition takes place on July 5, 2025. (more info soon)

Kvarnofonen
The Kvarnofon, created by Mikael Ericsson in 2012, is a unique sound installation that transforms Harplinge Windmill into a self-playing pipe organ, programmed with analog piano rolls—similar to MIDI in a modern DAW. It produces a noisy, unpredictable soundscape that fills the historic Harplinge landmark with unexpected resonance.
AI (Artificiell Idioti)
AI (Artificial Idiocy) (2019) explored how human consciousness learns through physical experimentation. Participants collaborated and playfully performed, using trial and error, delivering unexpected and hilarious results that delighted audiences.

Fältinspelningar
Field Recordings captures filmed sonic performances in nature—sometimes with mysterious instruments and often with the environment as a co-creator. Shared on Instagram, these works caught the attention of international sound artists, who began contributing recordings from around the globe. The project continues to grow, nearing 300 films, ready for you to explore [Watch here].
Ljud vid Nissan
Ljud vid Nissan (Sound at Nissan), a 2016 sound art festival by Harp Art Lab in Halmstad, Sweden, showcased experimental sound installations and performances. It explored urban ”spatial intelligence” through sound, offering informal investigations of public spaces across physical, social, and sonic dimensions. Soundwalks engaged residents in the city’s soundscape through artistic listening.

Workshops
Harp Art Lab offers extensive experience in hosting workshops that explore sound. Urban soundwalks, conducted in silence, let participants rediscover the city, sparking discussions on how urban design shapes sound. Other workshops blend improvisation, collaboration, and philosophical reflection to dive into the possibilities of sound.
